2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 contains one of those classic passages in scripture that addresses God’s election of the saints. God has provided this particular passage to give us hope and let us know that He is in complete control of all situations. We are to stand firm in His promises. Everything that we put our faith into is the knowledge that He keeps His word to us. Our hope is in Him and nothing else. It allows us to stand firm.

This message was given at our men's morning breakfast. We have been studying through the books of 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. If anyone is struggling with their relationship with Christ I hope this message helps them to Stand Firm knowing God is in control of all.

Persecution is a fact in the Christian life. We should not be surprised that the world is going to hate us for the Gospel message. We know Christ was obviously persecuted and we will also be persecuted.

In the beginning of this message I talk about a prayer request that was given for the Amlekvesk family. They are missionaries who were in a severe car accident and all of them were seriously injured and their 18 month old son was killed in the accident. It is a tragic story and these are the kind of things that are very difficult understand. But I believe God uses the most devastating situations to bring glory to Him for those who love Him. They will see their son once again.
